A couple of years ago when I was in Zellars with my friend, I got the hiccups. Now, my hiccups sound something like frogs exploding, so I was attracting a lot of odd glances, making me feel awkward already. As we passed by two ladies who worked there, one of them said to the other, "I want some of what SHE was drinking." If that wasn't bad enough, the guy I had a HUGE crush on then walked in, making me freak out and hide in one of the aisles. After he had passed, I realized that my hiccups were gone. I suppose the fear associated with a further awkward encounter caused my hiccups to go away.

My wife will get hiccups sometimes, and it sounds like she's yelling.
