I was 13 years old when I first went snowboarding. I picked up on it pretty quickly but I still struggled with the chairlifts and tow ropes. The tow ropes at this particular location had black plastic bars attached to them and I noticed people would put it behind their backs so that it pushed you up. I tried it and it was going well at first. I suddenly lost my balance and fell. As I went down the black bar snagged my coat and started pulling me up the hill, on my stomach! It was impossible to detach from my snowboard and my coat quickly came up around my neck. To prevent my self from choking from my coat around my neck I needed to use both hands to hold on to my coat. As a result, my snow pants and boxers came down around my ankles. The person that was supposed to be watching the lift was else where so I suffered a very cold and embarrassing trip up the whole hill screaming at the top of my lungs. The people on the chairlifts and tow rope seemed to be enjoying themselves however.
