So the first day of french class my teacher told us that halfway through the period we would take a 5 minute standing break. When that time was approaching she said, "I'm going to check your text books one by one. After I've checked yours, stand up for break." I was the first one to get my book checked so I stood up. By the time I realized no one else was standing up individually, it was too late for me to sit back down without looking even more awkward.
